For the past year people have been going stir-crazy for so-called “smartwatches” and it started with the insane Kickstarter Campaign for the Pebble e-paper watch which managed to raise over $10 million in May of last year.
I have to admit, I was caught up in the hullabaloo and decided to support the campaign myself. Since that time, rumors of the Apple smartwatch have begun to surface, but as Apple does, we have no idea if or when that will ever materialize.
So my Pebble finally came and I threw together a review. Check it out!
I have to be fair to the Pebble and say that they HAVE already made some updates, so even in the span of recording this review, there have been changes.
One thing I forgot to mention in the review is the battery life – It seems to last about 1 week, which isn’t bad overall, but if you really rely on your watch a lot, you have to be on your toes with yet another device to keep charging.
The Pebble is a cool watch, but I don’t know that everybody needs it. It’s a fun and occasionally very useful way to interact with your smartphone, but that interaction is more limited than a lot of people might be hoping for.
